DJ Just Be...? Rocking a Set or 2 from 'Coast to Coast'

I Played a few DJ sets in J-Bay during my missions.
Wok and a few friends put on a party called,
'Murder On The Dance Floor'
They asked me to play for a bit.

My new amigo Heitor Alves was nice enough to let me test out his Limited Edition Skull Candy Aviators a few times... Nice!

The cats at Monster had a big tent and DJ setup they used for promo and a few cool events that got loose quick.
They had me play a few times...

Surf Cafe in Plettenberg Bay was a Blast!
Cats were Loving the Sailor Jerry,
Big up to Soja!

A few gigs in Durban

That dude was standing there Jamming out doing the rock-away for so long. There were people all around him dancing and getting down crazy he was not worried...

Kind of 'Coast to Coast'
More like Natal to Eastern Cape,

Looking, Seeing, Living and Sharing: Some Recent Media Work Cats Might Dig

While on my Eastern Cape Missions I did a bit of this and a bit of that. In addition I managed to do some rad media features. The real gems I will be busting out in a little while but for now here is a nice taste.....
O' and by the way, the 'Following Lines' feature I did for Life the Life made it to number one and number two on Alltop. Basically the number 1 and 2 Surf feature in the world, for all major online media, at that time. Chew On That Boyz!!!

Screen shot from Alltop - # 1 & 2 -Pow!!!
As well as site photos from each feature/article,

Waves Of Plenty, Boards of Many

Boy did I score some waves over the last 2 months of costal book tour missions. Riding anything I could get my hands, or should I say 'Feet' On! I will try to give a good record of the waves and boards I was able to ride, although a few sessions went by undocumented.
But, that is the magic of the here and now...
So go get stoked on water,
Enjoy-

'SuperTubes' living up to its name. This was a good 3'pumper at least... Cats watching the surf on the boardwalk were coming up to me days later telling me they though I was gone, how did I make that wave and one dude even told me he hates me cuz he's never made a wave like that in his life.
Too Classic and Thank you 'Supers'
Loggin' Supers.... Look Mom No Hands!!!

Bruce Gold's 'African' Gun

The Tail was so pinned out it was very different to ride but so much fun...

And boy did it drive down the line....

This wave was such a gift and I was so stoked to get one of the sets of the day at Bruce's Beauties (Sequence coming soon!!!)

A beautiful Tich Paul Single Fin was reunited with a familiar place decades later...

Also know as Little Super Bank this Gem of the Eastern Cape is not always ready to provide, but well worth the wait...

Durban was going-off its head for Days on End...

Warm Water and a light land breeze with double to triple overhead pits, It was so Kiff!!! But seriously the worst weekend warrior shoulder hoppers' I have ever seen...
That's (031) Town for Ya'

The Tail of my poor sweet little 5-4' twin after Mango Airlines got their hands on it...
They might as well have dropped a F-ing anvil on the board!!!

All in All,
It was all for the ride!!!

Coastal Havoc - Part 2 (Winter 2011)

I was blessed with a lot of Jeffrey's for weeks on end. This is what they call 'Booll'Shit' J-Bay in Oz, if you are even lucky enough to witness this magic in real life...
I was able to spend some time with Derek Hynd (who I quoted in the final page of my coffee table book about South Africa). We got to surfed a few gems around the eastern cape and shared some cool times; I even squeezed out a few of his wild ideas on a new board to challenge the norm!
And a Big up to the cool and collected Taylor Claire Miller as well...
J-Bay Bowl 1
J-Bay Bowl 2
J-Bay Bowl 3
Inspired By Derek Hynd, but he made me use my ideas for this finless surfboard to become a reality; Along with the help of 4 totally different surfboard shapers. Behold the DreamWeaver!!! (more on that soon...)
Special Edition HandDrawn Derek Hynd J-Bay Decal for the DreamWeaver
